LUNAR Festival 2024: Illuminating Sofia's Nightscape Once Again
Sofia's Lunar Festival of Lights is back, illuminating the city with more than 20 captivating light installations across its most iconic landmarks.
A light earthquake was registered near Bulgaria's capital Sofia early Sunday morning.
The information was reported by the European Seismology Center.
The quake was of a 2.3 points magnitude on the Richter scale with an epicenter, located 14 kilometers south of the capital Sofia and 27 kilometers south of Novi Iskar. The epicenter was at a depth of 42 kilometers. The shock was registered at 6:37 am.
In addition, an earthquake was registered at 7 pm Saturday evening in the area near the southern town of Topolovgrad. The quake was of a 3 points magnitude on the Richter scale with an epicenter, located 12 kilometers northwest of Topolovgrad, 26 kilometers west of Elhovo, and 58 kilometers southeast of Stara Zagora. The epicenter was at a depth of 2 kilometers.
This is the third shock registered in Topolovgrad in the course of a week.
There were no reports of injuries and material damages from either quake.
