Over ten thousand people are expected to attend Sunday night the first ever concert of French electronic music legend, Jean-Michel Jarre, in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

The concert will be held at Sofia's brand new sports and performance facility "Armeets Arena."

Organizers are warning spectators to give themselves enough time to reach the concert hall.

The City Hall is announcing traffic changes – on Sunday, between 8 am and 5 pm, stopping and parking are banned on Asen Yordanov boulevard between Shipchenski Prohod boulevard and the Square of Aviation. On the assessment of the Traffic Police, there could be a ban on all traffic there between 5 pm and 10 pm, except for public transportation vehicles.

Trolleys on the 4 and 11 lines, and trams on the 20 and 23 lines will have more cars and more frequent runs. All public transportation vehicles on Tsarigradsko Shosse boulevard will stop at the Square of Aviation in both directions.

Jean-Michel Jarre (born August 24, 1948) is a French composer, performer and music producer. He is a pioneer in the electronic, synthpop, ambient and New Age genres, and known as an organizer of outdoor concerts, featuring lights, laser displays, and fireworks.

Jarre was raised in Lyon by his mother and grandparents, and trained on the piano. From an early age he was introduced to a variety of art forms, including those of street performers and jazz musicians. He also played guitar in a band.

His first mainstream success was the 1976 album Oxygen (Oxygene). Recorded in a makeshift studio at his home, the album sold an estimated 12 million copies. Oxyg?ne was followed in 1978 by Equinox (?quinoxe), and in 1979 Jarre performed to a record-breaking audience of more than a million people at the Place de la Concorde, a record he has since broken three times.

Several of his albums have been released to coincide with large-scale outdoor events.

Jarre has sold an estimated 80 million albums and singles. He was the first Western musician to be allowed to perform in the People's Republic of China, and holds the world record for the largest-ever audience at an outdoor event.

The concert in Sofia is part of the 2011 European tour of the French composer and musician.

The Arena has 12 529 seats and the capacity to hold 19 000 people. It was built in 18 months. It can be used, under the contract, for 8 types of sports, but offers possibilities for the practice of 30. It has a special security system that takes pictures of the spectators and recognizes those banned from sports events over hooligan acts.
