Winter Tourism: 1.8 Million Visit Bulgaria
Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, is leaving Monday on an official, two-day visit to the Czech Republic.
Borisov has scheduled meetings with his Czech counterpart, Petr Necas, with Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, and with the President of the Senate Milan Stech.
Bulgarian Culture Minister, Vezhdi Rashidov, is also part of the delegation and will sign with Czech Minister of Culture Irji Besser an agreement for partnership.
Borisov is further going to meet representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora in Prague and will open a Czech-Bulgarian business forum. He will take part in the opening of an exhibit of medieval Bulgarian icons and will meet with Mitropolit Hristofor – the archbishop of Prague and the Metropolitan of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 2010, bilateral exchange between the two countries was EUR 510 M, down nearly 8% compared to 2009, the Bulgarian news agency BTA writes Monday. The export from the Czech Republic was in the amount of EUR 364 M which is down by 21%, compared to 2009. However, the export from Bulgaria to the Czech Republic was EUR 146 M – an increase of 56% compared to 2009.
