English bookmakers Winbet have predicted an easy victory for ruling party GERB's candidate, Rosen Plevneliev, in the Bulgarian presidential elections on October 23.

Winbet is said to have used the help of Bulgarian sociologists in coming up with their scores for the major candidates.

Plevneliev is said to be the favorite for becoming Bulgaria's next President. His odds of winning are estimated at 2.25.

Bulgarian Socialist Party bidder, MEP Ivaylo Kalfin's odds are 2.90. He is followed by ex EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva, whose odds at winning the elections in Bulgaria are set at 3.00.

Rumen Hristov from the rightist Union of Democratic Forces, and nationalist party Ataka's leader Volen Plevneliev have even chances with 20.00 each, while Atanas Semov from the marginal conservative party RZS has 25.00.

Another nationalist, VMRO party leader Krasimir Karakachanov, is almost impossible to win the Bulgarian Presidency, according to Winbet. His odds are estimated at 50.00. The same goes for former secret agent Aleksei Petrov claimed to be a major mafia boss, according to the Interior, with an estimate of 75.00.

Bulgarian rock singer Svetlyo Vitkov, who started his run for the Presidency Thursday, fares even worse – his odds are placed at 100.00.

According to the English bookmaker, the most likely outcome of the first round of the Bulgarian Presidential Elections is that nobody would grab the victory immediately, and a runoff will follow – the odds for that are 1.20. The odds for a win at the first round are 4.00.
