Fugitive Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi has vowed once again to never give up in the struggle against the Libyan rebels and NATO forces.
A statement said to have been submitted by Muammar Gaddafi was read Monday night by the Syrian channel Ar Rai, which had broadcast messages from the Libyan dictator in the past.
Gaddafi's statement was read by the channel owner, Mishan Jabouri, who said the TV station was supposed to get a televised speech of the fugitive Libyan leader but that had been canceled for security reasons.
In his words, Gaddafi is on the ground fighting for the survival of his regime against the Libyan rebels, and has not fled to Niger or Venezuela, as reports have claimed.
In his message, Muammar Gaddafi accused the rebels of surrendering Libya to foreign colonizers and vowed to press ahead with his resistance.
"We will not be ruled after we were the masters," the elusive dictator stated, adding, "We will not hand Libya to colonialism, once again, as the traitors want."
Gaddafi's whereabouts are unknown, but his followers claim he is still in Libya. Some of his family members have fled to neighboring Niger, most recently his son Saadi.
Gaddafi's statement comes amidst continued heavy fighting at the Ras Lanuf oil terminals, with the dictator's loyalists staging fierce attacks.
The regime forces are still surviving in parts of Bani Walid as well as in Sirte and Sabha.
