Bulgaria's top sprinter Ivet Lalova has ended 7th out of eight sprinters that reached the final of the 100 m sprint at World Athletics Championship in Daegu, South Korea.

Lalova, who is known as the world's fastest white woman, was the only European in the 100 meter final of the world competition. She ran the 100 meters in 11.27 seconds.

Carmelita Jeter from the USA grabbed the win with a time of 10.90 seconds, thus breaking the dominance of Jamaican sprinters in the 100 m discipline over the past years.

Veronica Campbell-Brown from Jamaica remained second with 10.99 seconds, followed by Kelly-Ann Baptiste from Trinidad and Tobago, and World and Olympic champion Shelly Ann Fraser.

Bulgaria's Lalova failed to repeat her strong performance from the quarter final when she made the 100 m run in 11.10 seconds (she ran 11.23 seconds in the semi final on Sunday) but her making it to the final of the World Championship is still regarded as a major success.

Lalova has become the second Bulgarian to reach the final in the 100 female sprint discipline.
