Five Romanian citizens have been sentenced for vandalism after Thursday's Europa League clash between Romania's Steaua Bucharest and Bulgaria's CSKA Sofia.

Three of the away team's  fans have been apprehended during the game for throwing smoke bombs. Another one of the detained fans was caught with a smoke bomb hidden in his pants.

One more Romanian has been arrested for smashing a bottle in the stadium fence.

One of the fans has been banned from attending sport events in Bulgaria or abroad for a period of one year. The others have received fines between BGN 300 and BGN 400.

On Thursday, CSKA, managed to pull off a draw against Steaua at home but lost 1:3 on aggregate. Brazilian striker Michel Platini equalized in the 83th minute after Cristian Tanase had scored for the Romanian squad.

After the first clash between the two squads last week, Dimitar Borisov, the president of CSKA, was accused of making racist comments against Romanian Steaua Bucharest's Roma players
