Two of the sons of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi have been captured by the rebels who have moved onto the downtown districts of Libya's capital Tripoli, according to reports.

According to rebel officials cited by international media, two of Gadhafi's sons - Seif al-Islam and Saadi - have been arrested by opposition forces in Tripoli.

The news about the capture of Seif-al-Islam and Saadi Gaddafi have not been verified as of 2 am CET on Monday.

It has come just as forces of the Libyan rebels, i.e. the Benghazi-based Transitional National Council, have advanced into the downtown districts of Tripoli in what is believed by international correspondents to be the final battle for the bringing down of the Gaddafi dictatorship.

Late on Saturday, International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said Seif-al-Islam Gaddafi had been arrested and would be sought by court "for his participation in crimes against humanity (affecting) the Libyan people,' as cited by CNN.

The Hague-based ICC issued arrest warrants for Seif-al-Islam Gaddafi as well as for his unlce Abdullah al-Sanussi, and for the dictator himself, Muammar Gaddafi.

The ICC is expected to move in order to attempt to arrange with the Libyan rebels Seif-al-Islam Gaddafi's transfer to the Netherlands for a trial.

"The rebel fighters are in control of most of the neighborhoods in Tripoli," Jumma Ibrahim - a rebel spokesman based in Libya's western mountain region, is quoted as saying, in addition to announcing Saif al-Islam's arrest.
