NATO strikes have killed Khamis, embattled Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi's youngest son, rebels say.

According to rebel forcess, Khamis was among some 32 people dead following an air strike on an operation centre in the western town of Zlitan.

NATO is yet to confirm the report.

Zlitan is located 140 km southeast of Tripoli. Khamis Gaddafi runs Libya's 32nd Brigade, which has been fighting the rebels in the town.

This is the second report that Gaddafi's youngest son has been killed this year. In March, it was rumored that he died as a jet crashed into a compound in Tripoli where he was said to be.

In April, the Colonel's son Saif and three of his grandchildren were killed by a Nato airstrike on his house.
