An armed young man has been detained by Norwegian police authorities in the village of Sundvollen, right before PM Jens Stoltenberg had a press conference there.

The police have refused to shed light on why the man, reportedly aged 16-17, was apprehended. The young man told the Norwegian Dagbladet paper he was a member of the Labor Party. Acoording to witnesses, he explained he was wearing a knife because he did not feel safe.

"He was just standing in the crowd when the police suddenly grabbed him. They immediately made him lie on the ground," a Dagbladet reporter has said.

Meanwhile, it was made clear that Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old detainee believes to have killed at least 91 people in Friday's terrorist attacks in Norway, is cooperating with the investigation, according to the Norwegian police.

Earlier on Saturday, Oslo police chief Sveinung Sponheim said Breivik's Internet postings "suggest that he has some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views", as cited by the BBC.

Latest data indicates that Breivik killed at least 84 people, mostly teenagers, in his shooting rampage on the Utoya Island where Norway's ruling Labor Party held a youth camp, and another 7 people in the bomb attack in downtown Oslo
