A Strela 2M missile launcher has been discovered in a 55-year-old woman's attic during a police action.

The container with the missile launcher has been delivered by a friend of the woman's son, she has explained, stating she had no idea what was inside. The missile launcher was not loaded.

The woman is living in a village near the southern Bulgarian town of Tvarditsa, while her son is currently working in Greece, the Standart daily says.

Bulgarian police authorities are investigating the case in collaboration with the country's military intelligence.

Strela 2M is a man-portable, shoulder-fired, low-altitude surface-to-air missile system with a high explosive warhead and passive infrared homing guidance.
