The Bulgarian police have found the two perpetrators of the brutal murder of a 28-year-old woman in a downtown Sofia park that recently shocked the nation, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov announced.

Speaking in Sofia Friday, Tsvetanov said the police have found that the murder was committed by two perpetrators, and that one of them has been arrested, and the other one is wanted.

28-year-old Yana Krasteva was found dead on July 10 in Borisova Gradina park, the central park of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. She had been beaten and then choked to death shortly after a rock concert on the Bulgarian Army Stadium the previous night.

After the murder, several media reported that the woman was a "hobo" and an "alcoholic," stirring outrage among her friends and acquaintances on Facebook. It turned out that Krasteva worked in a mall and had applied for college.

On Wednesday, the Facebook group "Let's Protect Our Children from Yana's Killers" published a computer-generated sketch of a "dangerous" individual who is said to have been lurking around the Sofia central park Borisova Gradina, where the young woman's body was found.

According to the Interior Minister, the evidence the police have gathered are indisputable.

Investigators have found hair belonging to a 30-year-old suspect on the body of the victim Yana Krasteva. The first suspect was detained Thursday after reports from passer-byes stating a "bizarre and frightening man" has been roaming around the park recently. Citizens have presented an accurate description of the individual, who has been seen collecting empty beer bottles and reportedly looks like a homeless person.

The suspect has also failed a polygraph test, the police have pointed out.

In an interview for the bTV private channel early on Thursday, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov declared he hoped the murder case would be solved within days.
