Bulgaria's Chavdar Football Academy, ran by legendary striker Hristo Stoichkov, received the silver award for its youth development practice by the Association of European Professional Football Leagues.

The golden award was grabbed by the Russian Lokomotiv Moscow's youth academy.

During a gala ceremony held in Vienna, the EPFL saw the first edition of its Best Practice Awards, an initiative aimed to praise the best practice activities performed by the European Leagues during the 2010/11 season.

Recently, goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov from the Chavdar Football Academy signed a contract with Nottingham Forest.

On Monday, it was reported that Stoichkov has been appointed as Russian squad Rostov's sporting director.

Stoichkov, who managed rather unsuccessfully Bulgaria between 2004 and 2007, last worked as a coach at the South African team Mamelodi Sundowns.
