The presidential candidate of ruling party GERB will find it easier to win against the socialist candidate than against Meglena Kuneva at a run-off, said Director of the Centre for Analyses and Marketing Yulii Pavlov.
GERB's nominee will most likely make it to the second round and will have an edge over the runner-up, Pavlov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
In his words, the run-off stage of the upcoming presidential elections will depend on whether the runner-up is Meglena Kuneva or the candidate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).
If the competitors at the second round are GERB and BSP, GERB will find it much easier to win, Pavlov believes.
According to him, public disapproval of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has started to outpace public approval for the first time since he took office, although by a small margin.
At the same time, Regional Development Minister Plevneliev continues to enjoy support as the best performing minister.
The Centre for Analyses and Marketing will present later on Thursday the public attitudes towards the government and the forthcoming autumn 2011 elections.
