The administrator of the Facebook support group of the former Deputy Chair of the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, Kasim Dal, is going to be tried in a court of law.

Metin Mehmedov is charged with money and cigarettes theft in the amount of BGN 542 from a bar in the town of Glodzhevo, according to information from the Court in the Danube city of Ruse.

The indictment states that on May 31, 2010, Mehmedov entered the bar and stole 14 packs of cigarettes and cash. After the owner notified the police in the village of Vetovo (near Ruse) they issued a search warrant for the man. The Sofia police located him and arrested him on March 31, 2011.

The Facebook group "I Support Kasim Dal" was created after Dal was expelled from DPS for asking the ousting of party leader, Ahmed Dogan.

Dal's followers insist Mehmedov's arrest is political.
