US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks during a press conference at the end of the third meeting of the International Contact Group for Libya, which is held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 09 June 2011.
Friday's reports that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton considers quitting her job in 2012 to head the World Bank have been denied by her spokesman.
"Secretary Clinton has not had any conversations with the president, the White House or anyone about moving to the World Bank. She has expressed absolutely no interest in the job. She would not take it if offered," the spokesman, Philippe Reines said in an email to reporters, as cited by Los Angeles Times.
The report that Clinton eyes a World Bank move was initially published by Reuters, which cited her associates. The Secretary of State has repeatedly announced she does not consider staying in office for more than one term.
Clinton would need the approval of the 187 member countries of the World Bank in order to secure the job.
