Sixty children and two adults have been injured Friday in a serious traffic accident in Germany.

The incident happened at 7:35 am near the city of Gummersbach in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia after a truck entered opposite traffic and hit the bus, carrying the children, head on.

Ten children, ages 9 to 17, are reported in critical condition. All who have been hurt have been transported in helicopters to local hospitals while those with light injuries were treated at scene and released to the custody of their parents.
