Bulgaria's citizens should stay vigilant now that Al Qaeda head Osama bin Laden was hunted down and terrorist may seek revenge, the country's Defense Minister, Anyu Angelov, has stated.
"It is very difficult to predict when, where and how a terrorist attack may take place. I am sure that all safety measures will be taken, but Bulgarians have to stay vigilant," Angelov said Tuesday, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency reported.
The Minister pointed out that terrorism is one of the main threats the country's national secdurity faces and said the Interior Ministry will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the country's strategic objects.
The Bulgarian contingent in Afghanistan, which consists of more than 600 troops, has been on high alert even before bin Laden was killed, Angelov revealed, adding it will stay that way as long as necessary.
Al Qaeda will mobilize after bin Laden's death, but in the same time, it will be weakened, according to the Bulgarian Minister.
