There will be several changes in traffic patterns in downtown Sofia Sunday, the Sofia City Hall informs.

On May 1, which is Labor Day in Bulgaria, the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, is planning to stage a large-scale protest rally and march.

Beginning at 7 am Sunday, until the end of the rally, parking and standing is banned on the parking lots in front of the St. Alexander Nevski cathedral, along the Dondukov boulevard between the Rakosvki and Bacho Kiro streets, along the General Gurko street, between the Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi and Vasil Levski boulevards, and near sectors B and G of the National Stadium.

Parking is further banned from 8 am until 4 pm on parking lots at the Knyaz Alexander I square, on the street with the same name, and on Atanas Burov square.

Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard between Independence Square and Rakovski street, Dyakon Ignatiy street, between Aksakov and Benkovski streets, Aksakov street, and Lege street will be closed for traffic between 8 am and 4 pm.

The protest rally is scheduled to be held between 11 am and 12 pm Sunday, on Alexander Burov square, outside the guarded areas of the Presidential Office and the Parliament Offices. The march is taking place between 12:30 and 1:30 pm from Burov square on Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard to Sofia's Central Park Borisova Gradina.
