The Administrative Court of Egypt disbanded Saturday the former ruling party of the country, Hosni Mubarak's National Democratic Party.

The National Democratic Party ruled Egypt during the three decades Mubarak was president, before being ousted by massive popular protests in February.

The court ordered all assets of the party to move under the ownership of the Egyptian state.

Friday it was revealed that Mubarak, who was arrested in order to be tried for corruption and abuse of power, might face the death penalty.
