Bulgarian liberals Movement for Rights and Freedoms have given an ultimatum of one week to their MP Korman Ismailov to denounce his support of dissenter Kasim Dal, or leave the party.

Beginning of 2011 the Movement was shaken by vice-chair Dal's resignation and sharp criticism of the party leadership, including long-term chair Ahmed Dogan.

Dal himself was expelled from all MRF positions, including its parliamentary group.

Ismailov, a former president of the youth section of the Movement, has been supportive of Dal's criticisms.

He has announced Tuesday that the MRF Executive Board gave him one week to "repent or be self-expelled" from the party.

"They have been having an issue with me for a while - the question was not whether but when I will be expelled," stated the young MP.

He stated that he would like to continue working for MRF, but he thinks that it is in need of deep reform.
