No tsunami has been detected along Japan's northeast coast in spite of the warning issued as a result of the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that hit the country late Thursday night.
Japan's state TV channel NHK has announced that the estimated arrival time of the tsunami has passed, and that as of 12:40 am on Friday local time no tsunami hit the coast of the Miyagi prefecture.
Japan's meteorological agency has lifted the warning it issued after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:32 pm on Thursday local time.
As of 12:55 am local time, the Japanese nuclear safety agency said no change in the radiation levels in the affected region has been detected.
