Controversial Bulgarian businessman, Mihail Mihov aka Misho Birata (The Beer) has passed away from "fast heart failure over acute coronary deficiency," according to autopsy results.

The autopsy report has been sent to the Sofia Prosecutor's Office.

Mihov, who was the Chair of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation, was found dead Wednesday afternoon in a hotel in the town Pravets, near the capital Sofia.

The Prosecutor's Office announces they have ordered additional lab tests, before issuing a final conclusion on the cause of death.

Earlier Thursday, Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, announced that everything from the investigation is leading to the conclusion of accidental death and asked media to stop speculating over the fact the deceased has grieving family and friends.

The Sofia Regional Prosecutor's Office has filed pre-trial procedures for homicide against an unknown perpetrator, as it is the standard practice in such cases because this is the only way to order expert medical analysis.

In January, Mihov's name was tangled in a scandal after a tape of a conversation between Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, and the Director of the Customs Agency, Vanyo Tanov, leaked to the public. In the tape Borisov is heard asking Tanov to halt a customs probe in the "Ledenika" brewery, whose ownership is connected to Mihov.
