Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov has severely castigated Minister of Economy and Energy Traicho Traikov for issuing critical comments on the price-formation of oil company Lukoil in Bulgaria.
In the past few days, Traikov has stated that he has doubts about the prices of Lukoil, in particular that he is suspecting that an excessive pumping of the prices might be taking place.
This has been the thesis of networks of consumers, who staged massive protests accros the country one week ago.
Reacting to his minister's statements, Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov commented that he is "displeased with Traikov's unfounded comments."
"When you're saying that a company is managed insufficiently publicly or competently, but you have a vice-minister in its board of directors, then you've got to ask what you have been doing yourself for these two years. Then you can start judging others," explained Borisov.
Lukoil, on their part, has reacted with a sharp open letter to Traikov, putting into question his abilities in the art of calculation, and asking him not to engage in conflict-mongering.
Some have commented that the PM might go as far as requesting the resignation of his Minister of Economy and Energy.
Lukoil is managed by Valentin Zlatev, who is reputed to be a close friend of Borisov.
