Bulgaria: Bulgarian Construction Production Dropped by 12.4% y/y in January 2011

In January 2011, the working day - adjusted index of production in Bulgaria's construction sector showed a 12.4% drop year on year, according to the the National Statistical Institute's preliminary data.

On annual base, the decrease of production in construction, calculated from working day adjusted data was determined mainly from the drop by 14.5% in the building construction, while the civil engineering decreased by 5.8 %

The index, calculated from seasonally adjusted data3, decreased by 0.8%, compared to the previous month. Indices of the production of building construction, calculated from the seasonally adjusted data fell by 0.7%, while the production of civil engineering increased by 0.2%
