Security forces in the Gulf state of Oman have fired tear gas at stone-throwing protesters in the industrial city of Sohar, according to BBC.

International media inform that 1 000 demonstrators are gathered for a second day Sunday in the city, demanding political reforms and that the military had moved in to reinforce the security forces after the clashes.

Eyewitnesses say one person has been killed. Demonstrators, armed with Molotov cocktails and knifes, are heading towards the local police precinct.

The Gulf state's ruler, Sultan Qaboos, reshuffled his cabinet on Saturday, following a small protest last week.
