Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has been the most expensive guest of his Bulgarian counterpart, Boyko Borisov, according to information from the Council of Ministers.

The information has been requested by the Bulgarian daily "Trud" (Labor) under the Access to Public Information Act.

During Berlusconi's visit to Sofia in October 2009, 40 people, only 9 of whom Italian, have been invited to the official dinner. The bill has been BGN 9 038 or BGN 227 per person.

The second most expensive dinner has been for Georgian Prime Minister, Nika Gilauri, in the restaurant at the Sheraton hotel. Four people have attended.  The bill has been BGN 632 or BGN 158 per person.

Borisov and Gilauri had another dinner at the "Kempinski Zografski" hotel in the presence of 40 guests. The bill has been BGN 5 909 or BGN 148 per person.

The dinner for German Chancellor, Angela Merkel had cost BGN 86 per person.

Since the beginning of his term, Borisov has had 478 official dinner guests for the total of BGN 55 289 or an average of BGN 116 per person.

In comparison, a dinner guest of President Barack Obama is costing American taxpayers an average of USD 1 660, "Trud" writes.
