The government of Egypt, which was appointed by resigned President Hosni Mubarak, will stay in power and will not change its composition.
This was stated by the governmental spokesman, who added that the cabinet will be the authority effecting the political transition demanded by the Egyptian people.
Protesters have required a clear schedule for reforms from the army, who now effectively controls the country.
"The government format will be kept until the process of transformation is completed within the next few months. After that, a new government will be formed and appointed, in accordance with democratic principles," explained the government spokesperson.
"The main task of cabinet is to reinstate order and security, to start economic reforms, and to execute the operative governance of the state," added he.
A position from the Egyptian military is eagerly awaited.
