Bulgaria: Twice More Bulgarians Found Jobs in EU 2010

The number of Bulgarians who have found jobs in other EU countries has doubled in 2010 year on year, according to the country's Employment Agency.

In 2010, 4 500 Bulgarian citizens have found jobs in different EU member states through the National Employment agency compared with just 2 700 in the previous year.

The numbers cited by the agency show how many Bulgarians have found jobs in other EU states using the European Job Mobility Portal (EURES). The statistical data does not take into account those who have seized job opportunities due to their own initiative or illegally.

According to Eurostat data from January 2011, Bulgaria is the country with the third largest number of immigrants in the European Union. In 2008, from which the data was gathered, the EU member states received 91 000 Bulgarian citizens.
