Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has progressed to the third round of the qualifications for Australian Open in Melbourne.

The 19-year-old Bulgarian defeated by 6-3,6-4 the 22-year-old Moroccan Reda El Amrani and will now face Thomas Schoorel from the Netherlands.

Schoorel, is a 21-year-old left hander who is listed to be 221 cm in height and currently ranks No.165 in the world.

The Bulgarian, who currently ranks No.108 in the world, could not get a direct entry in the main draw of Australian Open and he needs to pass the qualifications in order to participate in the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.
