Bulgaria’s Health Ministry has announced it will pay BGN 25 M more to hospitals for the activities it is financing.

The funds will be spent on intensive care, emergency care, dialysis, psychiatry and others. They will cover 90% of what the Health Ministry owes hospitals for October, November and December.

The rest of the funds will b paid at the beginning of 2011 after equalization of the actual expenses, as the funding mechanisms envision.

In November, the Health Ministry paid BGN 20 M to hospitals for July, August and September for the activities it is funding.

Ministry officials have pointed out that in this way, the hospitals could operate normally.
