The Christmas vacation of the Bulgarian Parliament will be a total of 18 days, as voted by the MPs at Tuesday's emergency meeting.

The vacation will begin on December 23, 2010 and will end on January 10, 2011. The proposal was supported by 115 voters, two MPs were against and 10 abstained.

According to the rules of the National Assembly, the Christmas break should be between December 22 and January 10. However, since January 10 is Monday and the plenary meetings are held Wednesdays to Fridays, the MPs will return to work on January 12, 2011.

Last week, the Chair of the Parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva, announced that the MPs will have emergency meetings until Christmas, in which they had to accept the Election code and amendments to two laws.
