Former US Republican VP runner Sarah Palin believes she will be able to beat incumbent Barack Obama if she was to run in the 2012 presidential elections in the USA.
Palin, however, speaking in an interview for ABC news, clarified that she has not made up her mind yet about whether to seek a nomination to run for the Presidency in 2012, saying she is discussing her personal decision with her family.
"I believe so," said the former Governor of Alaska when asked if she can beat Obama in 2012. Palin rose to prominence in 2008 when Republican nominee John Mccain picked her as a running mate for the elections in which the two were ultimately defeated by Obama and Biden.
Palin has figured prominently in the US midterm elections energizing the support among conservative Republicans and tea party members for a number of Congressional candidates.
She has been increasingly active as a political commentator on the Fox News Channel.
A recent AP-Gfk poll says that 46% of Americans view her favorable, which 49% are of the contrary opinion about her. The percentage of those favoring her among Republican and Republican-leaning independents is much higher – 79%.
