A Cuban passengers plane have crashed in central Cuba, killing all 68 people on board, including 28 foreigners and seven crew members, the BBC reported.

The plane, owned by the state-run Aerocarribean airline, was flying from the city of Santiago de Cuba to the capital Havana late Thursday.

The passengers included 10 Europeans from the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, nine Argentinians, seven Mexicans, one Venezuelan and one Japanese citizens, according to local media.

The cause of the crash has not been announced yet.

The BBC informs that the pilot reported an emergency before the contact was lost.

According to Cuban media, emergency crews had to use bulldozers to cut through the thick vegetation to reach the crash scene.
