Bulgaria: Bulgarian Culture Gets More State Funding for 2010 The Bulgarian government has given additional money to the Ministry of Culture for paying the most urgent bills and expenses. File photo

Bulgarian government has provided additional BGN 2 M to the Ministry of Culture for paying the most urgent current expenses of theaters, music schools, museums, art galleries and other public cultural institutions.

The additional funds will be used for paying heating and electricity bills, materials, external services, fees for copyrights, local taxes and others.

"This will ensure the normal operation of the system until the end of the year," the official statement said.

Bulgaria's PM Boyko Borisov has promised to increase the state funding for culture in 2011 to BGN 104 M.
