Bulgarian PM Borisov appointed Monday Dimitar Tsanchev as a new Deputy Foreign Minister.

Tsvanchev's appointment was initially announced last week, as he is brought back from Israel to Sofia to replace Deputy Foreign Minister Marin Raykov, who became once again Bulgaria's Ambassador to France (after serving a term in Paris in 2001-2005).

Tsanchev served as the Ministry's spokesperson during the term of the previous top diplomat, Ivaylo Kalfin, from the Bulgarian Socialist Party. He is now Bulgaria's Ambassador to Israel.

In 2001-2002, Tsanchev was the foreign policy secretary of the Bulgarian President; he has also served as Bulgaria's permanent representative at the UN in Geneva.
