Bulgaria: Govt Replaces Head of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company Moskov has been replaced after heading the port infrastructure company for a year. Photo by Standart Daily

Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov has fired Evgeniy Moskov, director of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company.

"Delay of the coordination and realization of strategic projects," is the reason cited by the minister for Moskov's dismissal.

Moskov was appointed only last fall as the head of state company in charge of the development of the Bulgarian ports.

In Moskov's place, Tsvetkov has appointed Georgi Genchev, who is the current Deputy Director of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company.

Genchev is a graduate of the Varna Naval Academy and has occupied various positions in the field of maritime transport and administration throughout his career.

The reshuffle comes at a crucial moment for the expansion of Bulgaria's major Black Sea port Varna, for which Bulgaria has negotiated a sizable loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
