Bulgaria's Lyulin highway is 82% ready, the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the Minister on Regional Development, Rosen Plevneliev, have announced.
The two have made an official check on the construction of Lyulin highway on Sunday and announced the launching of new lanes at the Daskalovo road junction, which aim at easing the traffic.
"Half of Lyulin highway was made for six months, while one third of it was made for three years," Borisov said.
In September, the Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency detected a delay in the construction of the highway, which is performed by the Turkish "Mapa Cengiz."
Borisov claimed Sunday that at the time of the previous check, the delay was 40 days, and now it is only 10 days. He expressed his hope that the highway will be completely finished by May 15, 2011.
"Many highways have been taken home through the years. I will leave this highway here for you and you can do with them whatever you want,"the Bulgarian Prime Minister told residents of the area of the road junction Daskalovo.
After an elderly woman complained to Borisov about the parking lots and car washes that have been placed in the region instead of green areas, he promised not only to create a green are, but also to plant trees himself.
