Bulgarian-descended hopeful for the position of President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff voted Sunday at Brazil's general elections voicing spirited resolve to win.

Rousseff arrived around 9.10 AM local time at Santos Dumont school in Porto Alegre to cast her vote together with Tarso Genro, the candidate of her Worker's Party for governor of the Rio Grande do Sul state.

Before that, the two had breakfast at the local Plaza S?o Rafael hotel together with fellow labor party activists, reported the online editions of Brazilian newspapers Jornal do Brazil and Estado de S?o Paulo.

"We can show the world that we are indeed the largest democracy on the planet," stated an enthusiastic Dilma before the breakfast.

The latest polls released have shown that Rousseff might not win at the first stage as expected earlier, with figures around 51% showing her support within the margin of error from the 50% she needs.

When asked about those figures, Dilma showed determination to fight no matter what, stating that going to the second round will not curb her ambition to win.

She said she believed she emerged from the hard-fought campaign better than she entered and voiced her strong conviction that her fight is for the good of Brazil.

Meanwhile, current Brazilian President Luiz In?cio Lula da Silva, who launched Rousseff and has been instrumental in her successful campaign, cast his vote at Dr Jo?o Firmino Correia de Ara?jo school in the city of S?o Bernardo do Campo, S?o Paulo state.

The popular President was greeted by supporters at the election site and also voiced confidence about the outcome of the vote.

Sunday's general elections in Brazil include not only the presidential contest, but elections of governors of the country's states, as well as voting for the lower chamber of its federal legislative body, the Chamber of Deputies, and for a part of the Federal Senate.
