The Greek freight drivers have decided to continue their strike, which has blocked the traffic in the country for three weeks already and has caused a shortage of basic goods and products.

The workers have been protesting against the Greek government's austerity measures the country committed to in exchange for the bailout from the EU and IMF to rescue its crumbling economy.

The Greek PM George Papandreou has stated that the government's tolerance to the protesters ended on Tuesday evening and the state will activate all available mechanisms to normalize the supply of the market.

In the meantime, Greek traders and business representatives have threatened to sue the freight drivers for the huge damages they have caused on the market and the companies.

The strike has affected international transport, railway lines from Athens to its suburbs, as well as the subway connecting Athens and the airport.
