The prosecutor's office probe has discovered about 100 documents with forged signatures of then Mayor of Sofia and now Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The information was reported Monday by the spokesperson of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, Margarita Nemska, in an interviewed for the TV channel bTV.

The investigation in the scam with the forged signatures began in 2008 over reports that more than 100 municipal properties have been illegally taken by several individuals. One of them, which reachieved the most media attention, involves Plamen Drazhkov, brother of Ivan Drazhkov, then Deputy Director of the National Agency for State Security (DANS). Plamen Drazhkov, allegedly, acquired a prime land plot with the faked signature of Borisov.

Nemska said the results of the probe are forthcoming and would be a "pleasant surprise" for the public, adding charges are yet to be pressed against anyone.

In another high-profile case – the kidnap gang dubbed "The Impudent" over the special police operation under the same name, the spokesperson informed the group received more than BGN 10 M in ransom in a series of abductions that shook Bulgaria in the last years. Nemska confirmed that it remains unclear where the money is now.

The Prosecutor reiterated earlier statements that all charges against the former undercover DANS agent, Aleksei Petrov, still stand, but the evidence has been divided into two separate cases. She pointed out that the investigators have collected enough proof Petrov was the ringleader of a group dealing with racket and business crimes, but need more time for the other charges – of tax evasion and money laundering.
