The Bulgarian police have arrested two Romanian citizens during a special police operation codenamed “the Sewage Workers” which targeted people dealing with incriminated cars.

A 39-year-old and a 27-year-old men from the Romanian city of Buzau have been detained in the Bulgarian city of Silistra.

During the operation, the police detained a Fiat Punto that was being prepared for selling. Nine more cars have been found. Two of them have been detained, while the rest will be checked for intervention on the chassis and the frame.

The police have also found documents, connected to the registration of the cars, as well as 500 registration plates.

The Bulgarian police will cooperate with the Romanian and Italian authorities, as well as with Interpol and Europol.
