The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has announced that for the past 24 hours, the area of the wildfires was two times less, the Russian ITAR-TASS has reported.

According to the news agency, there were more put off fires than newly started ones for the past 24 hours. On Wednesday morning, there were 612 fires, ranging on an area of almost 93 000 ha.

The day before, the area of the fires was 174 000 ha. The big wildfires are 56 and their area is of 59 999 ha.

The wildfires in Russia have been put off by 165 000 people, 26 000 units of equipment, including 39 airplanes and helicopters.

550 foreign firemen, 6 airplanes and 7 helicopters have also helped fighting the devastating fires.

China also announced Wednesday that it will donate USD 1 M and deliver humanitarian aid good worth USD 2,93 M to help Russia with its combat against the wildfires, ITAR-TASS has reported.

According to the Russian RIA Novosti, the smog also began to leave Moscow on Wednesday and the air in the Russian capital was clean in morning.
