Tobacco stores at the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast have been selling drugs advertised as flower fertilizer.

The chair of the district council of drugs of the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Burgas, Ivailo Dimitrov, said Monday that the police have been alarmed and they are starting massive checks.

He has explained that the drugs have been selling in small packets with different colors and pictures, depending on the effect they have, for the price of BGN 20-25 for 1 gr.

“The drug is offered legally in stores for tobacco products and is in small packets of 1 gr. They are advertised as fertilizer for flowers.” Dimitrov said.

He has also stated that the drug has been a mixture of ecstasy and LSD.

Dimitrov has also explained that according to experts, people who use this kind of drug fall into a state similar to schizophrenia and the most common treatment for them is hospitalization in a psychiatric clinic.
