Bulgaria: Bulgarian Police Arrest 2 Treasure-Hunters 36 coins and other antques have been seized by the Bulgarian police during an operation against illegal activities with cultural and historical valuables. Photo by BGNES

The Bulgarian police have seized more than 100 coins and ornaments during an operation against illegal activities with cultural and historical valuables.

The Bulgarian Unit for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) have arrested two people who have carried antiques from different eras. The police have known the arrested for their treasure-hunting activities.

The police arrested the two men on Friday after finding 36 coins, 4 bracelets, 3 buckles and 7 unshaped metal objects.

After interrogating the two men's residences, the police have found 70 more coins, 2 antique rings, metal detector and two computer configurations.

The two have been charged and are currently under custody.
