The Bulgarian government does not want uncultivated lands, this is why the debated text is not unconstitutional, the Chair of the Parliament said in connection to the critiques on the amended law on ownership of agriculture lands.

At the Wednesday's meeting of the Parliament, among mutual accusations of lobbying, the MPs discussed amendments to the Law on ownership of agriculture lands and adopted a bill, forbidding construction of renewables on fertile lands.

“There will be no trade with the revised state budget,” Tsetska Tsacheva said Thursday in an interview for the Bulgarian private TV channel bTV, and added that the proposal for the “Belene” NPP referendum is a “future uncertain event”.

“I am positive about “Belene”, knowing the region and I meant that it needs a large project, but only if it is transparent. Nuclear power plants are built all over the world, but the payments there are vague. The most important thing is that in times of economic crisis Bulgaria is not capable of financing the project, but is looking for strategic investors and I am positive there will be such,” Tsacheva said.

She also denied the moving of the Parliament to another building.

“Who told you we are moving the Parliament and it is going to be a gallery? This building is emblematic and what we need to do as an anti-crisis measure is to not make Bulgarian tax payers support two buildings in times of crisis,” she said.
