The Netherlands have won 2:1 their Group of 16 match against Slovakia Monday night to preceed to the quarter-finals of the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
Netherlands’ Arjen Robben scored in the 18th minute for his team, followed by his teammate Wesley Sneijder’s goal in the 84th minute.
Slovakia, which became a hit at the World Cup after beating Italy in the preliminary group and throwing the world champions out of the race, managed to return only one goal in the extra time when Robert Vittek scored a penalty kick at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium
The Dutch now will face either Brazil or Chile, who contest their Round of 16 game at Johannesburg's Ellis Park later in the evening.
