Bulgaria President Georgi Parvanov has slammed PM Boyko Borisov for wasting energy by concentrating on attacking him rather than the financial crisis.
Parvanov, speaking in Lovech, said that “it is astonishing how much energy the Prime Minister wastes on fighting me…if he had used the energy to fight the crisis, we would have seen the back of the crisis already.”
Parvanov was replying to allegations made by Borisov that he had been involved in stopping certain investigations made by the secret services and interior ministry into ethnic Turkish DPS leader Ahmed Dogan. He added that the allegations were completely unfounded and that in fact such investigations were in no way his business; “PM Borisov knows very well that the Head of State is never informed by the services regarding special operations that are under way.”
He also urged Borisov to apologize directly to him; “I hope that the PM will make a full apology.”
Parvanov concluded by alleging that Borisov had a dark past involving relationships with “certain organizations, including with the disgraced secret agent Aleksei Petrov.
