A light earthquake of 2.6 magnitude on the Richter scale was registered Monday afternoon in Bulgaria's southern city of Sliven.

The information was reported by the Geophysics Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter is 15 kn west of Sliven. The shock happened at 3:49 pm and was felt on higher floors.

There are no reports about injuries or material damage.
