Bulgaria Socialist Leader, Sergey Stanishev, has slammed the government’s proposal to raise V.A.T by 2%.
At a meeting of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, their members demanded that the center-right GERB government should publish the “true characteristics” and details of the financial crisis in the country.
The Socialists also warned that GERB’s policies are threatening the currency board in the country.
Stanishev called the anti-crisis steps taken by the government "inadequate, incompetent and extremely right-wing."
He concluded that the report of the committee investigating the spending of the tri-partite government that he led as PM, as "PR squib”.
